Ebola has now become the talk of the day, even Boko Haram has not gotten this kind of attention, they must be so jealous of the virus right now. They had to bomb and bomb just to get everyone’s attention, but here’s a virus that has become a celebrity overnight in Nigeria just by affecting one person at the time. What is happening is simple, all sicknesses and diseases are from the devil, including this one, but one of the devil’s major weapons is fear! It is very evident that Satan is behind this, but it is rather shameful that many Christians are being exposed for what they really are: fearful, cowards and unbelieving! But this is not who they really should be, this should not be the response of a true believer to a virus.
First of All: Confirmed Facts about Ebola
I would like to share these clear facts from the exact words of the ECDC (2014, p. 1) before proceeding to our response as Christians:
“Ebola is a rare severe disease, often fatal, caused by the Ebola virus. It is transmitted through direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids (e.g. saliva, urine) from infected people, dead or alive. This includes unprotected sexual contact with patients up to seven weeks after they have recovered. You can also catch the disease from direct contact with blood and other bodily fluids from wild animals, dead or alive, such as monkeys, forest antelopes and bats.
Ebola virus does not transmit through the air as influenza does. After two days and up to 21 days following exposure to the virus the disease may start suddenly with fever, muscle aches, weakness, headache and sore throat. The next stage of the disease is characterised by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash and malfunction of the liver and kidneys. Some patients also have profuse internal and external bleeding and multi-organ failure. There is no specific vaccine or treatment for the disease.
Risk of infection with Ebola virus and how to avoid it
Even if you are living in, or have travelled to, affected areas, the risk of infection with Ebola virus is extremely low, unless you have been directly exposed to bodily fluids of a dead or living infected person or animal. Contact with bodily fluids includes unprotected sexual contact with patients up to seven weeks after they have recovered. Casual contact in public places with people that do not appear to be sick do not transmit Ebola. You cannot contract Ebola virus by handling money, groceries or swimming in a pool. Mosquitoes do not transmit the Ebola virus. Ebola virus is easily killed by soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. Machine washing clothes that have been contaminated with fluids will destroy Ebola virus. Ebola virus survives only a short time on surfaces that are in the sun or have dried.”
Cowards as Christians
Now that you have read excerpts from the exact report of the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) on the Ebola virus, removing faith from the equation, a man has to be a coward to see me and refuse to shake hands with me. Yes! You’re a bloody COWARD!!! I say this because people have actually insulted me by refusing to shake hands with me, for fear of Ebola, and they were not joking; they literally refused to shake hands. Secondly, such people are also bloody ILITERATES!!! And a disgrace to the information age. This is not even what pisses me off, what irritates me is that Nigeria is a highly religious country with the two major religions being Christianity and Islam. Then we have the idol worshipers and a few pagans and atheists who don’t believe in God at all. I am certain that the cowards were of Christianity and Islam, very certain. I excuse the Muslims because it is obvious we are on two totally different paths, JESUS vs. Mohammed, so I can’t judge them based on the Word of God and faith. But for the so-called Christians, I am terribly ashamed!
Christian Cowards and the Bitter Kola and Salt Water Solution
Yet again, I am hypothesizing that the major practitioners of these solutions were/are majorly of the two main religions in Nigeria. I further hypothesize that a higher percentage of the cowards were/are Christians. The major carriers of the fear of Ebola are also Christians. They say the most stupid and darnedest things in defence of their cowardice as against faith. People have tried using HIV as an analogy with Ebola, saying you don’t have unprotected sex and expect not to get HIV, so also you have to be careful and avoid shaking of hands and body contact to avoid Ebola. What NONESENSE! So the thousands of people who have gotten HIV just by sharing clippers at salons which they on their own couldn’t afford, or those infected at the hospitals with poor hygiene making use of used syringes on other patients are fools? Another one told me you don’t go and jump into the lion’s den and say God will protect you, so also be careful about Ebola. What NONESENSE! So before Dettol came out, have people not been living long? So have you been falling sick because you did not wash your hands with Dettol? So it is Dettol and soap that have been taking care of you right? NONESENSE! So it is malaria net that has been saving you from malaria right? Like you’ve ever used it.
The very same Christians (of course with other religious people) were the ones spreading the salt water solution around and endangering countless of lives which actually claimed two lives and left about twenty others hospitalized in Nigeria. I spoke with somebody recently who was in Ghana and he was telling me he hears that Lagos is this and that with Ebola, and his first advice to me from Ghana was to avoid shaking hands – a Christian! Someone who is not even in the country! I would want to go and swim and the first thing a Christian would say is “Ebola o!” even when the ECDC report states it that you can’t get it through swimming. I have gone to swim nonstop for your information, I have cuddled, hugged, and shook plenty of hands, NOTHING BY ANY MEANS HURTS ME!!! (Luke 10:19).
From my words, you can tell that I am seriously pissed off, YES, I AM! Then all of us will go to church on Sunday and say we are praising God, shaking heads vigorously, binding demons. NONESENSE!!! You proclaim fear in the world, then come to church and call God? You’re a joker! Christians would be marketing Ebola everywhere they go, making jokes of Ebola out of everything, Christians!!! Instilling unnecessary fear in the hearts of people when they should be carriers of God and faith; carrying Bibles up and down but have no substance of the inherent power within; empty barrels making the loudest noise, competing with Satan as a roaring lion; “having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5a). Do you know what I do? I run away from these cowards! Yes, “from such turn away” (2 Timothy 3:5b). If you stay around these people, they will infect you with fear! It is also Christians that went about picturing a time when Boko Haram would enter into other states and take over; when Boko Haram will enter Lagos and start bombing the schools – Christians!!!
Christ vs. Ebola
It is clear from my tone that I am on Team Christ. In my home, I have issued a warning against such nonsense speech praising and celebrating Ebola, and it has been declared that our language and counter response is faith, and other measures to further build faith, love, power and a sound mind have also been put into place, which I would be sharing with us. One passage in the Bible among the many others is enough to confirm to Christians that Christ has conquered all. Isaiah 53:4-5 says it all:
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
YLT (Young’s Literal Translation) says:
“Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains – he hath carried them, And we – we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted. And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace (is) on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.”
Then look at what Psalm 91:9-11 says:
“Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, they habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
Finally, loot at what God says to us in Deuteronomy 7:15
“And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee”
This assures us of our protection and immunity made available for us by the blood and sacrifice of Jesus. So what then should be the right response of a true Christian? Yes we are not all brothers and sisters in the Lord, I have said this before, and I have confirmed this.
The Right Christian Response to Ebola
Having seen (some of) the promises God has established upon our lives and families, the right response of a true believer to crisis and panic is faith.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7).
We need to proclaim the promises of God as they are written upon our lives and families and stand firm in faith upon them. All Jesus used to overcome the temptations of Satan was the Word “It is written…” (Matthew 4:4-10). Jokers who call themselves Christians will tell you that if you enter here and there, your angel will not follow you, NONESENSE!!! Didn’t you read Psalm 91:11 above? God has given His angels charge over us to keep us in ALL our ways! Did He say some? Did He say only when we go to church? Did He say only when we are doing something (we think is) holy? He said ALL our ways. So when Jesus ate and drank with the sinners, the angels left him right? NONESENSE!!! So the pastors who were victims of plane crashes (RIP) were on their way to Sodom & Gomorrah? You see, what you need to understand is that the churches are not necessarily on the path of truth and love, we are in dangerous times where Christians are been caged rather than being set free. Jesus said in Matthew 15:9
“But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
To also build faith and establish a greater bond of love and soundness of mind in my family, we started taking the Holy Communion right there in the home as a further reminder of what Christ has done for us and a further confirmation of our protection from all manner of diseases and evils. In doing so, we also proclaim the Word, so it’s all about the proclamation of God’s promises upon our lives. If you are one of those religiously blind freaks who are ready to judge me for taking the Communion in my house, I’ve put together these passages for you, not to shut you up (well some of you ruthless ones), but to save you from the curse of the scribes and Pharisees – Acts 2:41-47, Acts 20:6-11, that should enlighten you that the true practice was done in homes.
So you need to proclaim the Word, say them out, all those verses earlier quoted, especially the whole of Psalm 91. As you say your usual or unusual morning or night prayers, or any prayer in the day, either in your heart or through songs, you need to remind yourself of what Christ has done for you. Remind yourself that no matter where you enter, or who you touch or shake hands with or hug or play with or spend time with, God’s angels are keeping watch and protecting you in all your ways. Remind yourself that nothing by any means hurts you. Remind yourself that no plague comes near your dwelling place. Remind yourself that you are protected and have direct access to healing that has already been provided by the sacrifice of Christ. Break bread (Communion) and eat with the brethren, strengthening one another in faith always. Go about your daily activities in faith, NOTHING BY ANY MEANS HURTS YOU!!! You would notice that you will no longer be conscious of fear, but live in faith and the assurance of the grace of God upon your life and family. Any one that speaks contrary to your faith is from the devil, don’t even think twice about it.
Other Christian Responses
The funny thing is I had already started the Communion at home when I went to church and the pastor also suggested the same thing, but his suggestion was every morning for 21 days. He also suggested personalizing Psalm 91 every morning after breaking bread for those 21 days. That’s fine, but I don’t follow men’s commandments, so what happens after the 21 days? Would I now start living under the consciousness of the disease for those 21 days? So is it after the 21 days that I will be free from the fear of Ebola? So for me, I follow the leading of the Spirit in my heart, which is of love, power and a sound mind. So when we share the Communion every week, it’s to build fellowship and love and faith among the people; there is no consciousness of disease or fear of Ebola. There is just a re-assurance of faith, hope and love; for faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
There have also been other responses by men of God suggesting the anointing oil, Holy Communion, sprinkling the blood of Jesus, feet washing, high praise, etc. All these are beautiful responses, but I am just against the after/side effect of consciousness of the evil since they become like ritualistic practices against the disease. I suggest following the leading of the Spirit in activating the Word of God and its promises, avoid rumour carriers and bad news spreaders, and everything would just come naturally. You won’t have to engage in ritualistic practice, it would just be a natural and intuitive embrace of the grace of God.
How many people prayed this morning? Didn’t they still get to their destinations? How many people are strong enough after a rough day to pray in the night? They just yawn and don’t even complete their prayers, yet they wake up the next morning in sound health. I have siblings that sleep off exactly 5minutes into praise and only become conscious when we are sharing the grace, yet we all wake up in soundness of health. I have slept with mosquitoes for years without even covering my body, but I can’t remember the last time I had malaria. For real, that must have been in 2009. We need to understand the grace of God and let it flow through our confessions and praises, not in fear, but in an acknowledgement of what Christ has done for us.
Summary & Precautions
The major danger as has been confirmed lies with those treating the sick. Take the normal precautions, but understand that it is not the gloves and protective gear that assures your protection, because nurses and doctors have also been infected; it is the Word of God. I wash my hands before I eat, at least as often as I remember to, but when I want to eat groundnut or popcorn, or biscuits, or chips, there’s no time for that one; but I wash after using the bathroom, those are just normal childhood lessons. But to say I will wash my hands after every contact with any normal human being? Never! It is not washing hands that protects, one day, you will forget to do so, you won’t even know you have put your hands on a railing with bodily fluids and then since you’re protection is in your hands, you are finished.
To all my true fellow brothers and sisters in Christ whose spirits are in agreement with me, I can assure you with all certainty in the Word of God, WE ARE IMMUNE!!! The same goes for our family members, whether they believe or not, they are covered by the grace upon us.
Let’s continue to respond in faith, let’s continue to encourage others in faith and let Ebola know that there is only one CELEBRITY worthy of GLOBAL CELEBRATION AND RECOGNITION, and His name is JESUS CHRIST!!!
Cheers and God bless you infinitely!!!
